“Oh wow,” he murmured, zooming in on the props, on Mickey’s hat, a note of regret creeping into his voice. “That actually looks so cool.” Hey quick question do you remember being a child, feeling your own childhood slipping away from you?
... 'Z'AMAZE, this hit all the disney notes i know
Katie when I say this made me want to fly my children straight to the heart of Disney...where else does one find true magic these days??? Where???? NOWHERE, that's where. I took my big kid to Disneyland when she was 2.5 and I was heavily pregnant and while that sounds like a recipe for hell on wheels, it was perfect. She had zero expectations, was equally as delighted by the tram to and from the parking lot as she was by any park ride, was more than happy to sit every fifteen minutes to eat pretzels and watch the world zip by. I loved it, she loved it, it remains a golden memory, I can't wait until we can go back and I can shove more magic down their perfect shining gullets.
this brought a lil tear to my eye. my husband’s sister and her family went on a lightly subsidized Disney trip in April with my MIL and FIL, we did not attend, burdened as we were by a 7 month old and my maternity leave having just ended. but they did bring back two lightsabers for my kid, which have kicked off a star wars obsession and have already broken multiple times and are now mostly duct tape. I’m assuming they cost $40 each. he loves them.
Oh man you made the right choice for sure, b/c every time I saw little kids I was like "aw they're having so much fun, I get it now" and every time I saw a baby (and there were a LOT) I was like ??????????? go home, kid.
Don't tell your son about the lightsaber workshop where you get to build-a-bear a super high quality saber according to your specific Jedi qualities, for a cool $250.....ours were unaware of this particular experience and I believe this was for the best 🤫
